Fellowship Ascension Pathway: A Model of Inclusive Global Recognition

To ensure long-term engagement, meaningful recognition, and sustainable growth, WSO has developed a Fellowship Ascension Pathway; a multi-tiered system that allows members from all levels of experience and backgrounds to grow with the organization and be recognized accordingly.

This pathway democratizes professional honors, ensuring that contributions from the WSO’s Six Pillars are acknowledged within a global structure.

The pathway is outlined as follows:

1. Ordinary Member

Young professionals (typically under 35) demonstrating exceptional promise and innovation in their respective fields.

2.Prodigy (PWSO)

Young professionals (typically under 35) demonstrating exceptional promise and innovation in their respective fields.

3.Fellow (FWSO)

Mid- to senior-level professionals within any which of the Six Pillars and recognized for their unwavering commitment to professional excellence, integrity, and service.

4.Distinguished Fellow (DFWSO)

Fellows who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the dental profession through leadership, innovation, education, or community engagement.

5.High Achiever Fellow (HAFWSO)

Fellows who have made significant regional or national impact in advancing oral health, policy, public awareness, or inter-professional integration.

6.President’s Citation Fellow (PCFWSO)

Fellows who have rendered exceptional service to the organization or the profession at large. It recognizes devotion, loyalty, and outstanding contributions that embody the WSO’s mission.

7.Master Fellow (MFWSO)

Visionaries and pioneers Fellows who have led transformational changes within the global dental community or created lasting institutional or systemic change.

8.Emeritus Fellow (EFWSO)

Honorary recognition granted to retired or semi-retired Fellows who have completed an illustrious career of service to WSO and the global oral health community.

9.Lifetime Achievement Fellow (LAFWSO)

Reserved for the most distinguished figures whose legacies have transcended borders and advanced the global oral health agenda significantly.
