Overview of Activities
Introduction
The ancient Silk Road city of Samarkand, long celebrated as a beacon of learning and cultural exchange, became the global focal point for dental innovation as the World Stomatological Organization (WSO) successfully convened its International Conference in collaboration with Samarkand State Medical University.

The event gathered prominent dental educators, clinicians, and industries from Uzbekistan, China, Finland, Russia, Italy, Morocco, Malaysia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Türkiye, Singapore, and the United States of America, alongside distinguished representatives from Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan, united under WSO’s banner of global cooperation, innovation, and humanity in oral health.
The collaboration between WSO and Uzbekistan’s leading medical and dental institutions aims to advance dental education through digital technologies, AI, and modern teaching methodologies.
Both sides agreed to jointly promote academic exchange, research collaboration, and capacity building to introduce world-class standards into national healthcare systems.
WSO Regional Conferment Ceremony
Conferment of the Fellow of the World Stomatological Organization (FWSO) marks a high recognition of commitment to professional excellence, ethical leadership in oral healthcare and contribution to education, innovation, and community welfare
By awarding the Fellowship, WSO celebrates individuals who embody its global mission: “One World, One Oral Health, One Smile.”
The formal induction of new WSO members from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Russia, German, Morocco, Italy, symbolizing a united fraternity of dental professionals dedicated to global advancement in oral healthcare.
Scientific Programme on High Technology and Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry
Reflecting the theme “High Technology and Artificial Intelligence in Dentistry”, WSO invited ten distinguished international speakers to present on the digital transformation of dentistry.
Dr. Gerhard Konrad Seeberger (Italy) on
“Periodontal medicine: a new approach putting the body back on the peridontium.”
Professor Wang Guanghu (China) on “Etymological Study of the Chinese Character “牙”
（yá , tooth) and its Triggered Revolution in Dentistry”
These sessions reaffirmed WSO’s global leadership in merging technology and education for a smarter, more connected world of dentistry.
Bilateral Dialogues and Strategic Partnerships
Under the leadership of WSO President Adjunct Professor Dato Dr. How Kim Chuan, a series of bilateral meetings took place, further strengthening international cooperation and advancing WSO’s vision of a united global dental community:
China: A highly significant dialogue was held with Chinese partners, reaffirming WSO’s deep appreciation for China’s steadfast support and partnership. China’s leadership and organizational contributions will play a pivotal role in hosting the upcoming WSO World Annual Congress in Shenzhen, ensuring its success as a global milestone in dental innovation and collaboration.
Africa Region: Meeting with Dr. Nawal Rabii, President of the African Regional Organization, focusing on broadening educational outreach and building stronger African participation in WSO global programs.
Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS): Dialogue with Prof. Bedros Yavru-Sakuk and Dr. Elena Ivanova, reinforcingg academic and professional collaboration between WSO and CIS member countries
Italy: Meeting with Dr. Filippo Cardinalli, highlighting innovation in clinical practice and education.
Germany: Discussion with Dr. Igor Lukas Dogocki, emphasizing European–Asian partnerships and digital research initiatives.
Russia, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan: Bilateral engagements on establishing national WSO chapters, standardizing academic frameworks, and collaborating on technology-based dental education.
Gala Dinner & Private Dinner: A Celebration of Culture and Fellowship
The conference concluded with a grand Gala Dinner at a palatial restaurant in Samarkand, where delegates were treated to a spectacular evening of traditional Uzbek dances, music, and cultural performances.
The event celebrated global friendship and cultural appreciation, highlighting the hospitality and charm of Uzbekistan.
An exclusive private dinner followed, hosted in honor of WSO leaders and international delegates, creating a warm and elegant atmosphere for deeper professional dialogue and cross-cultural exchange.
