To maintain a fair, transparent, and merit-based structure of professional advancement, eligibility for each level within the WSO Fellowship Ascension Pathway shall be governed by the following general and specific criteria. All admissions, elevations, and recognitions are subject to the approval of the WSO Council and adherence to the WSO Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
a) Must be at least 18 years old of age.
b) Must be within any which of WSO’s Six Pillars, or individual with an interest in the field of stomatology or oral health.
c) Must endorse the Constitution, vision, and mission of the World Stomatological Organization.
d) Must commit to abide by the ethical, academic, and professional standards as prescribed by WSO.
e) No prior affiliation or recommendation is required; membership is open to all individuals who share the objectives of the Organization.
a) Must be at least 18 years old of age.
b) Must be an undergraduate, postgraduate, or early-career actively pursuing education, research, or clinical training in dentistry or any which of WSO’s Six Pillars.
c) Must demonstrate strong interest in international collaboration, leadership development, and innovation in oral healthcare.
d) Must agree to participate in mentorship, academic exchange, or developmental programmes organized under the WSO Prodigy Development Framework.
a) Must be at least 25 years old of age.
b) Must demonstrate consistent commitment to professional excellence, ethical integrity, and public service within the dental or medical community.
c) Must provide verifiable evidence of contribution in at least one of WSO’s Six Pillars.
d) Must have participated in WSO, regional, or international academic activities demonstrating alignment with the Organization’s mission and values.
a) Must be at least 30 years old of age.
b) Must be an existing Fellow in good standing with an established record of professional excellence and contribution to the advancement of the dental profession.
c) Must have made outstanding contributions in one or more of the following: academic leadership, institutional governance, clinical innovation, professional training, or community service.
d) Must have produced tangible outcomes (e.g., policy influence, publications, training programmes, or social initiatives) that have positively impacted oral healthcare at regional or international levels.
e) Nomination must be supported by at least two (2) Distinguished Fellows in good standing, or by a WSO Council.
a) Must be at least 40 years old of age.
b) Must be an existing Fellow or Distinguished Fellow in good standing who has attained regional or global recognition through scientific research, technological advancement, or humanitarian work in oral health.
c) Must demonstrate measurable impact in advancing dental science, technology, or healthcare access, particularly in underrepresented or developing regions.
d) Must have delivered keynote lectures, published in peer-reviewed journals, or led significant academic, scientific, or social projects contributing to the WSO vision.
e) Nomination must be supported by at least two (2) High Achiever Fellows in good standing, or by a WSO Council.
a) This recognition shall be conferred solely at the discretion of the President of the World Stomatological Organization at the time of inauguration.
b) Eligible individuals must have rendered exceptional service or contributions to WSO or to the profession of dentistry that reflect extraordinary commitment, leadership, or innovation.
c) May be awarded to individuals within or outside WSO who have supported its mission in a manner of significant and lasting influence.
d) Requires the concurrence of the WSO Executive Council and inclusion in the official register of Presidential Citations.
a) Must be at least 45 years old of age.
b) Must be a senior Fellow, Distinguished Fellow, or High Achiever Fellow in good standing who has demonstrated intellectual leadership, mentorship, and excellence in professional governance.
c) Must have contributed significantly to academic development, institutional reform, or the establishment of best practices within the dental community.
d) Must have a proven record of mentoring, teaching, or training future leaders within the profession.
e) Nomination must be endorsed by the WSO President or at least two (2) members of the Global Council, and validated through a peer review process.
a) Must be at least 50 years old of age.
b) Must be a Fellow, Distinguished Fellow, or Master Fellow who has entered retirement or partial retirement from active professional or academic duties.
c) Must have demonstrated lifelong dedication to the Organization’s mission and have made substantial, long-term contributions to the development of global oral health.
d) May be recommended by the Global Council, or by two (2) peers of equivalent standing.
e) Approval is contingent upon verification of continued ethical standing and reputation within the professional community.
a) Reserved for individuals whose lifetime of service, scholarship, and leadership has profoundly transformed the global landscape of dentistry and stomatology.
b) Must have demonstrated contributions that extend beyond national boundaries and have resulted in measurable global impact on healthcare, education, or humanitarian development.
c) May include pioneers, inventors, institutional founders, or world leaders in oral health recognized by multiple international bodies.
d) Selection shall be conducted by the WSO Executive Council upon nomination by the President and ratified by the Global Council.
e) This title is conferred as the highest form of distinction and cannot be applied for; it is awarded by invitation only.
